Queen’s Half the Sky

Queen’s Half the Sky focuses on three main objectives: creating awareness of particular issue’s affecting women in developing countries, fundraising, and implementing action in the campus community.

In promoting awareness, QHTS hopes to ensure students are receiving moving, powerful and educational facts and statistics about the issues that women are subjected to. QHTS focus’ on how education, violence against women and sex trafficking, maternal health and reproductive rights and economic empowerment affect women in impoverished countries around the globe.

All fundraising proceeds will be donated to an organization advocated for by the Half the Sky Movement. A common theme of these organizations is that they have a special focus on impoverished women as they strongly believe that, with the proper resources, women have the power to help entire families and communities to escape poverty. Goals include works to improve basic education, prevent the spread of disease, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. These goals go hand in hand with the visions of the Half the Sky movement.
